9-11 AM. The island is home to hundreds of egrets, herons and ibis as well as dozens of other species. Walks last about 2 hours; bug spray is recommended. Bring binoculars if you have them. Reservations required;  kendyll@bhic.org or call 910.338.0930. Cost: $20 per person, $15 for Partner, Sponsor and Patron Members. FREE for Life Members.
